An anathem sung during the aut of Provener, the daily ceremony when the Great Clock is wound. Thousands of different versions of this anathem have been composed, but all must use the same words. Variations include the number of melodies which are sung simultaneously.
At the Concent of Saunt Edhar one portion of the Hylaean Anathem was a single tone which, when sung by a chorus, resonated inside the Praesidium at the right frequency to vibrate the chains and other mechanical components inside the clock enough to reduce the coefficient of static friction sufficiently for the chains to be moved and the clock wound by a team of four Fraas.
