Can anyone think of a specific school of thought or person (besides general category historians) that would serve as a RW (real world) equivalent of the Lorites? They intrigue me, mostly out of the great need we have of them! Perhaps copyright lawyers? But seriously, I'll be looking. If anyone comes across something, let me know! --Lorite 15:38, 29 January 2009 (UTC)

I think the Lorites are a little more focused than general historians. I think a good earth parallel would be The Royal Society, or someone like James Burke or Carl Sagan. J L Stillman 17:55, 29 January 2009 (UTC)

Charles Duell was supposed to have said something along Lorite lines - it's a confirmed urban myth, but still an interesting read. Also, I found out that there's Lorite philosophy hidden away in the Bible. Interesting, again. I found another quote, this by Lord Kelvin, that's more Lorite than the previous ones. It goes something like 'There is nothing new to be discovered in physics now. All that remains is more and more precise measurement.' 09:40, March 29, 2011 (UTC)
